New House or Home?

Friends, It has been quite some time since our little family has updated the blog...  and so, SO much has changed.  Not the least of which is the fact that we now live in Texas!  3 days before Bryce was born, Jonny was asked to take a position as the Lead Pastor at a great church in Ft. Worth Texas. ( Trinity Chapel Bible Church )  So about three weeks after Bryce was born we sold our house, moved to Ft. Worth, bought a house sight unseen (huzzah for a good realtor!) and have been trying to settle in to life as a new family of five in a new house, new city, new job and new community. We've been gone from Ohio for not even 2 months, yet everything has changed so drastically and quickly.  I am beginning to see what my grandmother means when she says, "Sometimes I feel as though I have lived many different lives..."  The very place that was once so strange and new to us had become home.  And yet, we are hopeful and thankful to be here.  While so much of our affe

"Say Cheese" Sweet Dreams Friends, This is going to be short and sweet.  As you probably guessed from the title, we have just a few things going on this week and time is of the essence for this sleep deprived Mama ;) First things first...  Bryce Timothy Norman was born last Thursday, July 21st!   Weighing in at 8lbs 3oz, he is 19 inches long and has totally captured our hearts!  We are thankful for his healthy delivery and to have been able to come home the next day from the hospital.  His big sister and big brother are pretty thrilled with him and are both eager to help bring him a paci, or his blanket and even throw away diapers for us!  It's tender and precious to watch how they each engage him and seek to love on him and care for him. Not to be upstaged by anyone, Nathan (actually, his ophthalmologist) decided that this Thursday, the 28th would be a fantastic time reschedule a surgery that had to be canceled last month due to his getting HFM virus

Upward and Onward

We cought the red-eye flight to Dallas last Wednesday evening arriving at about 2am Thursday morning.  Flying with two kids is always an adventure and adding those kind of hours to it is icing on the cake!  In all truthfulness, while our kiddos aren't perfect and certainly have thier moments, we really couldn't have asked for them to do better than they did with the travel.  (Expectations are everything!)  Experience has taught us to always plan a buffer day in between travel and Nathan's appointments so Thursday we recovered and Friday Nathan, Jonny and I headed to the hospital for an MRI of Nathan's skull and an appointment with his specialist. They say there is a first time for everything and after the last 2.5 years we had our first.  Nathan's MRI looked fantastic and the doctor said he was in a "very Zen place" with how Nathan is doing right now!  Dr. F. was able to provide some really important insight into Nathan's upcoming eye/ear/throat surger
