The 5 W's of our family

Who, What, When and Where:
Jonny and Jen were married in November of 2009 and moved to Ohio in 2011.  5 years and 4 pregnancies later found us with 3 wonderful kids and a 4th baby who's 14 week body we delivered and buried at home, knowing and trusting we will meet fully in Eternity.

We moved to Fort Worth in 2016 and six years later would definitely say we feel both settled and invested, though a piece of our hearts will always be with the community we love and were loved by in Ohio...

Jonny is currently serving as the lead pastor at Trinity Chapel Bible Church in Fort Worth, Texas.  Our family moved to Ft. Worth to be a part of this church community in the fall of 2016 and we are thankful and settled into this small church, full of people we love.  Jonny's desire to see those far from Christ come to know him and for the truth of scripture to have bearing on every day life continue to take up most of his calendar.  He's also loved having the opportunity to coach each of our kids on various sports teams over the past several years!

Jen has been teaching 5th grade at the neighborhood school for the past several years.  It's not a cush job per se, but she is ultimately thankful for the opportunities to work in the same school as the boys and enjoys being so richly integrated into our community!  Her passion for the Church and for women especially from all walks for life to know and experience Jesus are still the things that keep her up late reading, praying and wondering...  Weekly bible studies, opportunities to preach and serve others through leadership fuel her.  She is the one who will probably be doing most of the contributing on this blog.

Madison: Our beloved first born, daughter... What to say?!  She has a lust for life that is second only to her love for her family and friends!  She is a fantastic big sister to both brothers.  She is a constant cheerleader, therapist and built in "second mom" just in case they need some redirecting :)  She's got a lot going on as a middle schooler now!  She enjoys plays volleyball and basketball, piano lessons and has several small jobs in the neighborhood.  Her questioning mind and open nature are beautiful attributes of her personality and continue to shape her faith and walk with the Lord.

Nathan: Our precious firstborn son...  He has proven to be both courageous and endearing.  When he was born he was diagnosed with Apert Syndrome and you can read more about that on his page of the blog.  He has had a slew of additional medical needs, some of which are related/correlated to his syndrome, some of which were just "bonuses" and/or are a side effect of the sustained and intensive medical interventions as an infant.  He's enjoyed being on a soccer team with school mates for the past couple of years and has recently start taking drum lessons.  He's got the sweetest eyes and a great sense of humor if the group is small enough and he feels safe.  The little man has found his way deep into our hearts and we are so thankful for him!

Bryce:  Our last (but never least) came to our lives in the midst of our taking a new job, Nathan having surgery, selling and buying houses and moving halfway across the country.  His perfectionist tendencies mixed with a competitive nature make him a force to be reckoned with for sure.  He's got more athletic ability and natural sway in his pinky finger than we will ever posses.  That being said, he is learning that "God makes you strong to serve and protect the weak" and his high-pitched-giggle and young sense of humor provide tender moments of reprieve for all of us.  Being the baby, he serves as constant reminder to slow down and see the moments in the midst of the chaos.

WHY the blog?
Since most of our family and many of our friends live out of state, and some even out of country, we wanted an easy forum to keep people updated with what's happening on our lives.  Additionally, we thought that this would be an easy place to keep people updated on Nathan's medical treatments as they come up.   At the core, this is a family blog.  It's a place for us to share about our family to our family and friends.  If you want to see everything, feel free to subscribe.  If you just want updates from time to time, check back in as often as you would like.
